Launched in 2010, The Founders Reserve is a good example of the character of the whisky produced at Glen Garioch [glen gee-ree]. Their whiskies are not chill filtered and are bottled at 48% abv or higher. As this is their entry level whisky, there is no age statement attached.
Nose: A creamy whisky on the nose it’s oily and hints of citrus and acidity.
Palate: Allspice and quite meaty, delicatessen, buttery and still creamy. Chocolate and citrus.
Finish: Balanced oak, citrus and apples with chocolate.
