Another fine example of North Star owner Ian Croucher’s superb palate and buying power. This Glenturret (peated might I add) spirit was distilled in March 2009 and bottled in September 2017 at 57.1% abv. Spending all its maturing days in a refill hogshead barrel. Only 330 bottles worldwide and this is most likely the last remaining. Be quick.
Nose: Lots of sweet honey and freshly toasted barley, stewed fruits, peat smoke and some cracked black pepper.
Taste: Cured meats, heather, citrus, vanilla and white pepper.
Finish: A dry finish with more heather and peat smoke. Buttery pastry and lemon citrus.
