The Lakes Distillery is situated in the Lake District National Park in Northern England. The distillery has not been talked about until recent World Whisky results were announced naming one of the whiskies produced here as ‘Best In The World’. It’s generally at this turning point after receiving such a momentous award that the distillery gets rather popular and everyone wants to start talking about The Lakes Distillery and drinking what it produces.
A limited edition bottling of The One from The Lakes Distillery, which has enjoyed a finishing period in a combination of first fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks, imparting oodles of dried fruit notes, with a good emphasis on spicy Spanish oak. As ever, the blend is brilliantly crafted with the distillery’s own single malt alongside whiskies from across the British Isles. Bottled at 46.6% ABV.
Nose: Dates, sultanas, ginger, earthy peat and polished oak.
Palate: Dark chocolate combines with dates and black pepper, malted barley and hints of cask char.
Finish: Rich dark fruits, creamy sherry, nutty and earthy.
